HELP YOUr DOCTOR HEAR YOUR BODY’S SIGNALS TALK

The SPEAC® System continuously monitors, records and stores sEMG data during active patient monitoring. This can result in fewer missed GTC seizures by you, your caregiver and your physician. Audio recording is triggered by a potential GTC seizure alarm to provide additional information to your physician to help confirm seizure activity.

Both alarmed and non-alarmed sEMG events are recorded and processed. An event diary shows your physician a date and time stamp of all identified events. The signals from these events are processed using wavelet analysis to give your treating physician more detailed information about each identified event. This information provides details on the tonic and clonic phases of the events that help a physician distinguish one type of motor event from another. Interpreting the sEMG events can help your physician better diagnose your events and optimize your seizure treatment.
